This is especially true for athletes who train intensively without adequate rest or recovery, as overuse injuries become more likely. Once diagnosed, managing osteoarthritis is essential for athletes who wish to continue their sport. Treatment plans often incorporate a combination of lifestyle changes, physical therapy, and, in some cases, medication. For many athletes, adapting their training regimen can help alleviate the stress placed on affected joints.
